On October 16th, the Government of Ontario announced that York Region will be moved into modified stage 2 COVID-19 restrictions, effective Monday, October 19, 2020 at 12:01 a.m. These restrictions will be in place for a minimum of 28 days.

Under these restrictions, Newmarket Skating Club can have no more than 10 people (including coaches) on the ice at any time.

Given these new public health measures, the Newmarket Skating Club Board of Directors have made the difficult decision to cancel our Fall 2020 CanSkate Program.

Members who have registered for the Fall CanSkate program will receive a full refund.

As we all navigate through these challenging times, we appreciate the continued support and understanding of our Newmarket Skating Club membership. While we do not yet know what the next four weeks will bring, we are dedicated to continuing our CanSkate program once public health restrictions have been lifted.

As this is an evolving situation, we will continue to keep members informed and will communicate with you when we are once again able to offer our CanSkate program.

If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Newmarket Skating Club at or any member of the NSC Board.

We wish to apologize for any inconvenience or disappointment this may cause and thank you again for your understanding and cooperation as we all work to protect the health and safety of our skaters and coaches
