Josée Chouinard

Josée is a 3 time Canadian National  Champion. She has competed in 4 World Championships with top 5 finishes as well as 2 Olympics with a top 10 finish. She was also Canadian Professional Champion 5 times. Along with her numerous medals and accolades, she has also starred in various skating television productions including Stars On Ice for 11 years.

Josée has an impressive background in the sport of figure skating. Everyone can’t help to gravitate to the smile she always has on her face and the energy and passion she brings to the sport.  Newmarket Skating Club is so fortunate to have such a talented individual host 2 seminars this year.

Michelle Long

Home town girl…we are so fortunate to have Michelle come back to Newmarket Skating Club.  Michelle Long had an incredibly memorable 2015-2016 season.  She finished fifth at the 2016 Canadian championships, earning her way onto the National Team.  She will be competing in the ISU Autumn International Classic September 12.  Michelle is taking time out of her busy schedule to bring her expertise to our skaters at Newmarket for two seminars:

September 4th at 5:40-6:40pm -INTERMEDIATE/SENIOR/ADVANCED

September 9th at 5:40-6:40pm – JUNIOR

Power Stroking & On Ice Conditioning with Elliott

Elliott is a former junior world team member and represented Canada internationally for several years. He trained at the Mariposa School of Skating and has been teaching for the past 5 years.

Seminar Lead with Markus Leminem

Markus Leminen - Markus is the 7-time Finnish National Freeskate Champion and expertise in jump technique.  Markus has guest coached for Finland’s Junior Team as well as in New Jersey and Hong Kong.  We can add Newmarket Skating Club into this now as he is our Guest Seminar Lead.  NSC is so fortunate to have Markus lead….

James Callan

James has been teaching for over 22 years, his areas of discipline are Stroking and Dance. He is a 6 time National level ice dance competitor with 3 years at the Senior level and conducts seminars across Canada.
